TESTIMONIALS

I have been lucky enough to see Zambesi grow and develop over the years. The company has a friendly non-competitive feel where each pupil really does support and encourage each other, whatever their age and expertise. Hannah and Jack teach interesting and original choreography, which continues to challenge and develop every dancers ability. It is always a pleasure to watch their performances throughout the year. My son always looks forward to going, and just loves it!

I’ve known Hannah and her work for over 13 years, I’ve worked with her, I’ve employed her, I’ve danced with her and attended events that she has put on herself.  I’m always refreshed from being in Hannah’s presence and always hugely impressed by the dances she creates.  As a dancer she is hugely giving and as a teacher and choreographer she is dynamic and talented.  Hannah is a truly wonderful human being, the work she has done for youth dance in Surrey is quite frankly amazing; she has inspired so many children and young people to fall in love with dance.
Rachel Palmer – The Dance Movement

As someone who joined Zambesi with very little confidence, my experience has been one full of learning, personal development and enjoyment! Being a part of a company that prides itself on individuality and quality contemporary technique has supported, enabled and encouraged me to pursue a career in dance. Hannah has a real sensitivity towards nurturing talent and has established a brilliant company that encourages and inspires confidence in young people.
Lily Norton – Chichester University studying dance

Having just finished my MA Dance Performance degree at Trinity Laban, I look back at Zambesi Dance Company as my first experience of feeling like an actual dancer. What Hannah offered, are the opportunities to experience, learn and perform; to such a high standard, all the while having so much fun. Without the support and nurturing of Hannah and Zambesi, I wouldn’t be where I am today, doing what I love. Thank you!

When working with Zambesi Dance, I’ve always been impressed by the creativity and professionalism of the young dancers. This is in no small part down to the expert support they receive from Hannah Batley, who is an accomplished choreographer, but also has an excellent understanding of how to nurture the young dancers and encourage them to become independent movers and thinkers.

Hannah and Jack are incredible teachers that have helped me develop a strong contemporary technique and have aided me to even create my own piece! Zambesi Dance Company lets you be involved in the choreography in a fun, friendly environment, and I always look forward to class with the Zambesi family.

I’m in my third term at Zambesi and I have loved every minute of it. Even though I was nervous before I started I made friends in no time as it is such a welcoming and friendly place to be. I have been doing a lot of ballet and this company has introduced me to a refreshing and original type of dance which I love!

I was really nervous when I joined  Jambesi, it didn’t take me long to make lots of friends as everyone was very nice and welcoming especially Hannah. I had never been to a dance class before but Hannah makes it fun and exciting to learn.
Sienna Carr age 10

Zambesi offers something very different from traditional dance schools.  I like that that there are no set dances but you have the opportunity to work with Hannah and Jack to choreograph the pieces. The dances are challenging but fun and you explore how to use your body in different ways.  Zambesi is a friendly and supportive group irrespective of your dance experience; and there are lots of different opportunities to perform.

I was asked to come along and see what dance would be like. I was nervous as dance was not something I was sure I wanted to do. I went along and even though I wasn’t the best dancer, I felt welcomed. I really enjoy going to dance every week and I’m so glad I got the opportunity.
